Free ASO audit tool
An ASO audit scores a live app store listing against the things the stores actually index and users actually judge: title and subtitle keyword use, keyword field efficiency, description structure, icon and screenshot clarity, ratings and review velocity. This free tool runs that audit on any App Store or Google Play app and returns a score with the specific findings behind it, then shows a rewritten version of the listing next to the current one so the recommendation is concrete rather than advisory. No signup, no card.
Analyze your app's store presence
Search for your app and get an instant ASO score with actionable recommendations.
How to use it
- 1
Enter your app
Search by app name or paste the App Store or Google Play URL. The audit reads the live listing.
- 2
Read the score breakdown
The score splits into metadata, keyword coverage and conversion, so you can see which part is dragging the listing down.
- 3
Compare the rewrite
Review the proposed title, subtitle and description beside your current ones, with the reasoning for each change.
- 4
Ship and re-audit
Apply the changes in App Store Connect or Play Console, then re-run the audit after the store re-indexes to confirm the improvement.
What the audit scores
| Dimension | What is checked | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Metadata | Character budget used per field, duplication across fields | Unused characters are unused ranking surface |
| Keyword coverage | Which relevant terms the listing targets, and which it misses | You cannot rank for a term you never state |
| Conversion | Icon clarity, first three screenshots, description opening lines | Most store visitors decide before scrolling |
| Social proof | Rating, review volume and recency | Rating gates conversion more sharply than any copy change |
A one-off audit versus continuous ASO
An audit is a snapshot. It finds the obvious losses — an under-filled title, a subtitle repeating the app name, a keyword field full of plurals the store already handles — and on most listings those account for a meaningful share of the available upside.
What an audit cannot do is tell you whether the fix worked. That needs a baseline, a record of what changed and when, and a re-measure after re-indexing. If you only ever audit, you keep re-discovering the same problems; the point of running ASO continuously is that each change becomes evidence for the next one.
Frequently asked questions
Is the ASO audit really free?
Yes — no account and no card. It is limited to three audits per device per week so the tool stays available.
Can I audit a competitor's app?
Yes. The audit reads public store data, so it works on any live App Store or Google Play listing.
How often should I audit a listing?
After every metadata change, once the store has re-indexed — roughly one to two weeks on the App Store — and otherwise quarterly, or whenever rankings or conversion move unexpectedly.
