CPP URL generator
A custom product page URL is the App Store link that sends traffic to one specific variant of your listing rather than the default page. It is your normal app URL with the page's product page ID appended, plus the campaign parameters you use for attribution. Getting the format wrong is the most common reason a paid campaign appears to send traffic to a CPP but reports against the default page instead. This free generator builds the URL correctly and keeps your campaign parameters intact.
Build your CPP link
Start with your app: appXL pulls the correct base store URL for your app and storefront so the product page ID and your campaign parameters sit in the right place. Free, no signup.
Find your appHow to use it
- 1
Add your app
Paste your App Store URL or search for the app so the base link is correct for your storefront.
- 2
Paste the product page ID
Copy the product page ID from the custom product page in App Store Connect. It is a UUID, not the page's name.
- 3
Add campaign parameters
Add your campaign token or provider parameters so installs report against the right source.
- 4
Test before you spend
Open the finished URL on a device and confirm it lands on the variant, not the default page, before it goes into a live ad.
Anatomy of a CPP URL
| Part | Purpose | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Base app URL | Identifies the app and storefront | Using a localized URL that forces the wrong region |
| Product page ID | Selects which custom product page renders | Pasting the page name instead of the UUID |
| Campaign parameters | Attributes the install to a source | Dropping them when the CPP parameter is added |
| Storefront country | Controls which market's listing shows | Sending global traffic to a single-country URL |
The order of parameters does not matter, but their presence does. If the product page ID is missing or malformed, the App Store silently falls back to the default listing — no error, no warning, and your test looks like it worked because the app page loaded.
Measuring custom product pages properly
- Use one custom product page per creative concept, not per ad — otherwise you cannot read the results.
- Compare each CPP's conversion rate against the default page, not against each other, so you know whether the variant helped at all.
- Give each page enough impressions to separate signal from noise before declaring a winner.
- Re-test seasonally: the same variant can win in one campaign period and lose in the next.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find the product page ID?
In App Store Connect, open the custom product page and copy the URL Apple shows for it. The product page ID is the UUID in that link, not the page's display name.
Does Google Play work the same way?
Not quite. Google Play uses custom store listings, targeted by audience or by a listing ID appended to your Play URL, and the parameter format differs from Apple's.
Will a CPP URL break my attribution?
Not if the campaign parameters are kept alongside the product page ID. Attribution breaks when the CPP parameter is added by hand and the existing tracking parameters are dropped in the process.
